Tops Five Tourist Attractions in Malaysia

For all types of tourists visiting Malaysia for the first time, there are two main distinct experiences that the country offers. These are the peninsula and Borneo. The Malaysian Borneo features a wild jungle full of interesting places and sites such as granite peaks and orangutans while the peninsula offers a mix of Indian, Chinese as well as Malay flavors especially in the capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia is also popular for luxury resorts and even beautiful islands. Some of the main tourists’ attractions in Malaysia include:

  1. Cameron highlands.

These are extensive hill stations developed by the British and the highlands are inhabited by several ethnic groups among them Chinese, Indians and Malays. This region is popular with tourists who enjoy jungle walks as they explore the tranquil spots around the highlands. The Cameron highlands are also known for its waterfalls. Visitors also get to book tea factory tours as the highland also has tea plantations.

  1. Taman Negara

In Malay, Taman Negara means national park and is known to be one of the oldest tropical rain forests on the planet. The forest features amazing waterfalls, jungle treks and even massive trees.   1. PulauTioman

This is a small island that is located off the east coasts of the peninsula. This island has previously been selected by the Time Magazine as one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Tourists visit the island to have a taste of the paradise that is surrounded by white coral reefs. The numerous reefs make the island a haven for several interesting activities such as scuba diving. The interior of the island is densely forested and is mainly visited between November and February.

  1. Mount Kinabalu

This is the highest mountain in Borneo, with its summit reaching to a height of 4,095 meters. The mountain is popular with its tremendous biodiversity in botanical as well as biological species. These include numerous species of birds, ferns and even mammalian species. Tourists with proper physical conditions are also able to easily climb to the main peak of the mountain even without the use of any mountaineering equipment.

  1. Petronas twin towers

These twin towers are located in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. The Petronastwin towers were previously the tallest buildings in the world but are currently the world’s tallest twinbuildings. Visitors of the capital can visit the towers which has several interesting features such as the sky bridge running between the towers onthe 41st and the 42nd floors. The towers have 88 floors that are constructed of steel and reinforced concrete.
