In today’s match African innings was ruled by the captain itself as Graeme Smith completed his 14th Test century .This was his 4th test double century at Chittagong coming up off 238 balls.In the league next to him were McKenzie who completed their maiden double-hundred, respectively.Today’s match between Bangladesh and South Africa gave a glimpse of historical achievement as South Africa’s Gream Smith and McKenzie broke the 53 years old record set by India’s Pankaj Roy and Vinoo Mankad of the best opening stand. In 1956 Roy and Mankad scored 413 against New Zealand in Chennai which previously was challenged by another Indian duo Rahul Dravid and Sahwag in 2006 in a match played against Pakistan in Lahore but unfortunately they fall short of just 4 runs. Neil McKenzie and Graeme Smith put on 415(world record) for the opening wicket.

In South Africa tour of Bangladesh the second test match was played in Chittagong which Bangladesh’s most experienced batsman Habibul Basher was dropped. Basher has played
52 test for Bangladesh and its his only third time that he has missed a test match.
