The Nepalese authorities require all hikers to purchase two permits before hiking which are Annapurna Conservation Area Permit ( ACAP) and Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS card). These permits are required in order to enter the Annapurna area and are checked at points all along the circuit. Fortunately these cards don’t expire while within the circuit but once the hiker leaves the circuit he or she will need to purchase new permits.

2- Map

Hikers will require maps while on the circuit and they can be purchased in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There are maps of different sizes and scales. The best map should include the New Annapurna Trekking Trails (NATT) and side trails. The maps are quite affordable since the cost ranges from $2- $7.

3- The NATT guide

This guide provides information for trails that help to avoid the road and gives amazing information about the villages along the trekking route. The guide is vital because its very informative since it has detailed information about the
culture and tradition of the people living in the nearby villages along the circuit.

4- Gear Pack

Hikers should bring their own gear bag packs or they can purchase or rent gear packs in Kathmandu or Pokhara. This is important because the circuit takes approximately 19-21 days for the entire package. Some of the important gear items are canvas tents, drinking water, warming utilities, flashlights, boots and extra clothing.

5- Accommodation Sites

The hikers need to locate camping sites if they are nature lovers or know the exact spots for accommodation.
The best accommodation centre for the entire circuit is the Teahouse. Its best known to accommodate international trekkers and hikers.

6- The Best Season

Understanding the climatic conditions in Annapurna is vital to avoid unexpected calamities that might occur during
the trek. The best time of the year for the circuit trek is February, March, APrili, March, May, September, October and November.
